SnapTrans respects your privacy. This Privacy Policy explains how SnapTrans handles information when you use the app.

1. Information We Collect

SnapTrans is designed to collect as little information as possible.

The app may process the following types of data:

Screen Capture Data

SnapTrans captures only the screen area that you manually select when you start a capture or translation action.

SnapTrans does not record your screen continuously.
SnapTrans does not monitor your screen in the background.
SnapTrans does not capture your screen without your action.

OCR Text

When you capture a selected area of the screen, SnapTrans may recognize text from that image using OCR.

This recognized text may be used to:

Translation Data

When you use SnapTrans Cloud, the recognized text may be sent to SnapTrans Cloud for translation processing.

When you use Apple Translation Engine, translation is handled using Apple’s translation technology where available. Some language support may be managed by macOS.

Purchase Information

SnapTrans may use Apple’s In-App Purchase system to unlock Pro features, including SnapTrans Pro Lifetime.

Purchase processing is handled by Apple. SnapTrans does not collect or store your payment card information.

4. Screen Recording Permission

SnapTrans requests Screen Recording permission on macOS so the app can capture the selected area of your screen for OCR and translation.

This permission is used only when you manually start a capture or translation action.

SnapTrans does not use Screen Recording permission to continuously monitor, record, or analyze your screen.

5. Accessibility Permission

The App Store version of SnapTrans does not request Accessibility permission.

SnapTrans does not use Accessibility features to control other apps, monitor user activity, or create system-wide automation.

6. SnapTrans Cloud

SnapTrans Cloud is the built-in cloud translation option in the app.

When you choose to translate using SnapTrans Cloud, the recognized text may be transmitted to SnapTrans Cloud servers for translation processing.

SnapTrans Cloud is used only to provide translation functionality. We do not use submitted text to personally identify you.

7. Apple Translation Engine

SnapTrans may offer Apple Translation Engine as a Pro feature.

When Apple Translation Engine is selected, translation is handled using Apple’s translation technology where available on supported macOS versions.

Some language support may require macOS to download or manage language resources.

SnapTrans does not require third-party API keys to use Apple Translation Engine.

8. Translation History

If translation history is enabled, SnapTrans may store recognized and translated text locally on your device.

You may clear translation history from within the app if this feature is available.

Translation history is intended only to help you review previous translations.

9. Clipboard

SnapTrans may allow you to copy recognized or translated text to your clipboard.

Clipboard access occurs only when you choose to copy text.

SnapTrans does not monitor your clipboard in the background.

10. In-App Purchases

SnapTrans may offer Pro features through Apple In-App Purchase.

The Pro Lifetime purchase may unlock features such as:

You can restore purchases using the Restore Purchases option in the app.

The App Store version of SnapTrans does not allow users to enter third-party API keys.

SnapTrans does not provide API key input fields, provider key settings, custom provider configuration, or external AI provider selection in the App Store version.
